Somdej Phra Naresuan Shrine

History
The shrine stands within Phitsanulok Pittayakom School, formerly the site of Chan Palace. It is a traditional three-gabled Thai pavilion containing a life-size seated statue of King Naresuan. He is shown holding a golden water vessel and pouring water in the gesture of declaring independence at Mueang Khraeng. The Fine Arts Department built the shrine; it was completed in B.E. 2404 (1861). An annual ceremony to pay respect to the statue is held on 25 January.
