Wat Bang Chak

History
Originally called Wat Bang Phum, the temple was built in 1822 (B.E. 2365) beside Bang Phum Canal in Bang Phlap Subdistrict by Mon migrants who had settled in the Pak Kret area. They built it as a place for religious merit-making. Because the original site flooded throughout the year, the temple was later moved from Ban Bang Phum to Ban Lamphu Lai. The Thai source links the name Wat Bang Chak to this move.
