Wat Nang Takhian

History
Wat Nang Takhian is beside the Mae Klong River in Khlong Khoen Subdistrict. It is described as an old temple dating from the Ayutthaya period, but its builder is unknown. Its former name was Wat Phettharam; local residents commonly call it Wat Nang Takhian. The source suggests the name may echo the Nang Takhian Canal, which flows through Tha Kha in Amphawa, or refer to two Takhian trees said to have grown at the temple in the past. According to oral accounts, those trees are no longer visible.
