Doi Soi Malai Petrified Wood National Park

History
Doi Soi Malai Petrified Wood National Park is in Tak Ok Subdistrict, within the Mae Salit–Pong Daeng National Forest Reserve. Most of the forest is relatively intact dry dipterocarp forest, with trees growing fairly densely across the area. The Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation surveyed the site and found dozens of petrified logs. Excavations and studies at seven pits uncovered eight large pieces of petrified wood between B.E. 2546 and B.E. 2548. The site was then developed as a tourist attraction and nature learning centre for Tak Province.
