The park covers parts of Mae Tho Forest in Mae Tho and Phawo Subdistricts of Mueang Tak District, as well as Mae Lamao Forest in Mae Sot District. Its forest types include hill evergreen, pine, tropical evergreen, dry dipterocarp and mixed deciduous forest. The weather is cool throughout the year.
