This page answers one specific question: how much is a one-point move in SET50 Index Futures worth? It is not a trading guide or a recommendation to open a position. The contract multiplier is 200 baht per point, and the minimum price tick of 0.1 point represents 20 baht per contract.
Calculate the gross value of a price move
Gross profit or loss before costs = points moved × 200 baht × number of contracts. A move against your position produces a loss; a move in your favor produces a gain. The calculation does not include fees, commissions, the bid–ask spread, slippage, or changes in margin requirements.
| Price movement | 1 contract | 2 contracts |
|---|---|---|
| 0.1 point | 20 baht | 40 baht |
| 1 point | 200 baht | 400 baht |
| 5 points | 1,000 baht | 2,000 baht |
| 10 points | 2,000 baht | 4,000 baht |
For example, if you hold two Long contracts and the price falls by five points, the gross mechanical result is 5 × 200 × 2 = 2,000 baht before costs. The same amount would be a gain for a Short position if the price moved in the opposite direction. This example explains the calculation; it does not predict a market move.
Point value is not margin or maximum loss
The multiplier measures how sensitive profit or loss is to a price move. It does not tell you how much margin you must post, and it is not a maximum-loss figure. Check current margin rates, fees, and contract terms directly with TFEX and your broker before placing an order, because some details can change.
