Wat Takat Ngao

History
Wat Takat Ngao is an ancient religious site in Tha Mai District, estimated to be about 200 years old. Its important historic structure is a scripture hall standing over water, made by royal craftsmen in the late reign of Rama III. It is believed that the hall’s components were brought from elsewhere and assembled using interlocking wooden joints. After the hall deteriorated, local people restored it; the work was completed in B.E. 2544. Other antiquities include a principal Buddha image carved from wood and a wooden preaching seat.
