History

The ancient temple is in Ban Khon Tai, Khon Thi Subdistrict, within the old town of Khon Thi. The source says its name appears in the Ram Khamhaeng inscription, dated B.E. 1835, as a town in the Sukhothai Kingdom. Two important archaeological sites have been found in the old town: Wat Prasat and Wat Kathueng.
