Wat Phra Phutthabat Ratchaworamahawihan

History
Located in Khun Khlon Subdistrict, this is a first-class royal monastery of the Ratchaworamahawihan rank. It was built in B.E. 2167 (1624), during the reign of King Songtham of Ayutthaya, after a Buddha footprint was found on the ground above the shoulder of Suwan Banphot Hill. The footprint measures 21 inches wide, 60 inches long, and 11 inches deep. King Songtham considered it to display 108 auspicious characteristics and ordered a temple and temporary mondop to be built over it. Further additions were made in later periods.
