Wat Phra Phut Saiyat

History
Wat Phra Phut Saiyat is on Khiri Ratthaya Road in Khlong Krachaeng Subdistrict. Based on the reclining Buddha image, the temple is believed to date to the Ayutthaya period. The brick-and-mortar image is lacquered and gilded, about 21 wa, 1 sok, 1 khuep, and 7 inches long (approximately 43 metres), and rests on a platform about 1 metre high. A hollow space is inside the image. Gold designs on its soles depict a palace, Brahma, a royal umbrella and crown, an alms bowl, water jar, conch, sword, elephant, fish, gold tray, palmyra-leaf fan, peacock-feather fan, and crystal lotus. It was originally open to the sky; a roof and surrounding walls were added later. The page describes it as one of Thailand’s large reclining Buddha images.
