Wat Phra Pathom Chedi Ratchaworamahawihan

History
Phra Pathom Chedi is described as the largest stupa in Thailand and is used as the emblem of Nakhon Pathom Province. The present chedi was built during the reign of King Rama IV in B.E. 2396, by royal command to enclose the original ancient chedi. The earlier structure is described as having an inverted-bowl-shaped base topped by a prang and is believed to date from the early 4th Buddhist century.
