History

Wat Nong Pa Phong is in Ban Phong Sawang, Non Phueng Subdistrict. It was founded in B.E. 2497 by Luang Pu Cha Subhaddo (Phra Bodhiyan Thera), a disciple of Luang Pu Mun Bhuridatta. It is a Mahanikaya forest monastery devoted to vipassana meditation. Many meditation centers operate as branches of Wat Nong Pa Phong in Thailand and abroad, established through the Buddhist teaching work of disciples who follow Luang Pu Cha’s example.
