History
Wat Mok Lan was formerly a large sanctuary of the Shaivite sect of Hinduism, dating to approximately the 12th–14th Buddhist centuries. The sanctuary was later abandoned. During the Ayutthaya period, a community built a temple there. In B.E. 2480, a monk established it as a monastic residence and temple.
