Wat Mani Chonlakhan Royal Monastery

History
Located in Phrommat Subdistrict, this old and important temple is often compared to a gateway to Lop Buri. It is believed to date to the reign of King Narai the Great and was originally called Wat Ko Kaeo because it stood on an island in the Lop Buri River. A road now runs through the temple, so it no longer has its former island setting. King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) bestowed its current name, Wat Mani Chonlakhan.
