Wat Amphawan

History
Wat Amphawan is in Phrom Buri Subdistrict. The source says the temple may have been named in the Ayutthaya period and cites a Chinese inscription describing Chinese merchants sailing junks to trade with King Narai in Lop Buri alongside Dutch merchants. It says they first built the temple’s chapel. The old ubosot later became severely deteriorated and was demolished in B.E. 2511 (1968). A replacement was completed on 31 March B.E. 2513 (1970).
