Trat City Pillar Shrine

History
The shrine is a center of faith and sacred traditions for Trat Province. It stands on Lak Mueang Road near Wat Yothanimit and is distinguished by its Chinese pavilion-style architecture, unlike typical city pillar shrines. It is believed to have been built during the reign of King Taksin the Great, when his army assembled troops in Trat, to bring good fortune and protect the town. Today, Thai-Chinese residents and the wider public continue to visit to pay respects, pray for blessings, and take part in important annual provincial traditions.
