Noen Wong Fortress Historic Site

History
Noen Wong Fortress is a historic site in Chanthaburi. The source says it was built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn to defend against Western incursions. Its star-shaped fort is surrounded by walls and a Western-style moat. Inside are important structures, including gun emplacements and a museum. The site reflects Thailand’s former military and sovereignty concerns and is now a place to learn about history.
