History

The bridge stands over the Mekong River and was built through cooperation among Thailand, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and Australia to strengthen economic, social, cultural and tourism ties. It connects Mueang Nong Khai in Thailand with Tha Duea in Laos. Vientiane, the Lao capital, is about 20 kilometres from Tha Duea.
