Sikornpoom Castle

History
The castle is in Ban Prasat, Rangaeng Subdistrict, 500 metres from the Sikhoraphum District Office. Its ancient Khmer architecture is associated with the Baphuon through Angkor Wat styles and the 16th–17th Buddhist centuries. It was built as a Hindu Shaivite sanctuary, venerating Shiva (Phra Isuan) as the supreme deity, and was later converted into a Hinayana Buddhist temple around the 22nd–23rd Buddhist centuries.
