History

Phra Tamnak Doi Tung was formerly a residence and working retreat for the Princess Mother. Its architecture combines Lanna art with the chalet style of Switzerland. Northern Thai craftspeople carved patterns into the kalae gables, eaves and window frames. A beautiful flower garden surrounds the residence. Thai- and English-language audio guides are available to guide visitors through the different points.
