Khun San Statue

History
The statue stands in front of Sankhaburi District Office. The source calls Khun San the “Hero of the Noi River Basin” and describes him as a Bang Rachan leader who fought Burmese forces to defend Thailand, winning seven battles. It calls him the district’s first national-defense volunteer 223 years ago. The statue is 2.50 m high. Its inauguration and celebration took place on 19 January B.E. 2526 (1983), and the district holds an annual ceremony to pay respect to Khun San’s spirit on that date.
